Know your anti-gay candidates
Bob Summersgill shares this information brought to light by Keith Ivey from campaign finance reports regarding contributions from the National Organization for Marriage to D.C. Council challengers:
| Recipient | Contributor/Contributor Type | Address | Date | Amount |
| Committee to Elect Delano Hunter | National Organization for Marriage / Democratic PPC | 2029 K Street NW Washington DC 20008 | 2/1/2010 | $450.00 |
| Motley 2010 Committee | National Organization for Marriage / Democratic PPC | 2029 K Street NW Ste 300 Washington DC 20006 | 1/29/2010 | $950.00 |
| Motley 2010 Committee | National Organization for Marriage, Inc. / Other | 9502 Nelson Lane Manassas VA 20110 | 2/1/2010 | $950.00 |
Also check out the campaign websites of Ernest E. Johnson for Mayor and At-Large Council candidate Richard Urban.
Update: A friend writes, "looks like they contributed $1,900 to Motley, which would exceed the $1,000 limit in at-large races." Bob replies, "It looks like they are claiming to be two different groups. That will need to be investigated."

Is Delano Hunter aka Dee Hunter, or is this somebody else entirely? What office is Mr. Hunter running for?

I don't see any mention of LGBT people on Ernest Johnson's web site. I think he is one of the perennial candidates for office, and that he does not respond to GLAA questionnaires.

And Delano Hunter is running for DC Council in Ward 5 http://delanohunter.com He might find in in his long term political interests to return this contribution to the National Organization for Marriage. He also makes no mention of LGBT people or same sex marriage on his website.

Craig, Delano Hunter appears to be younger than Dee Hunter. His campaign website is at:

Compare with this 2002 dcwatch page on Dee Hunter:

Charlie, look at Ernest Johnson's site again. In the upper left photo, he is posing with anti-marriage-equality protesters. His choice of that photo suggests he agrees with the sentiments on the posters.

Please go back and read the thread. Craig asked if Delano Hunter was the same person as Dee Hunter. I noted his younger appearance to point out that he was a different person.
