Peter King's Muslim hearings: for Fox viewers

Alex Pareene in Salon looks at Rep. Peter King's anti-Muslim hearings. King, while determined to hold his hearings and to focus only on Muslims as potential domestic terrorists (despite the long list of American terrorists who were not Muslim), is back-peddling furiously to avoid the appearance of utter recklessness. So he hasn't invited some of the most notorious rhetorical bomb-throwers, but he has invited Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), who is a Muslim (and to whose campaign, incidentally, I have donated money). The trouble is that a sizable portion of the people who know about King's hearings are Fox News viewers who have already had it drummed into them that radical Islamists are about to turn the United States into a Caliphate. King seems well aware of the dangerous game he is playing, and doesn't want to be blamed for any vicious attacks that may result.
