The Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, DC would like your help as we put together our Out History "Since Stonewall: Local Histories Contest" entry. Our entry will be a presentation of almost 40 years of gay activism inside our nation's capital (and can be viewed here).
But, as you can see, our entry is missing the voices of the people who actually lived through some of the key moments listed on the timeline.
We need you.
Please send us your own first-hand account of an event, a rally, a vote, a bill signing, a bar closing, a tragedy, a triumph... (anything on our timeline, and even anything else we may have missed). We will then weave your stories (and pictures) into the timeline (1971-2010) to give the reader a true multi-dimensional look into DC's gay history.
The contest deadline is March 31st, so we don't have much time.
If you plan to submit your own story or stories, please do so by 4pm on March 20, 2010 so that we have time to incorporate it into our page.
Please submit your entries as comments to this blog post or, if you have pictures we can use, via email to tuasmig@aol.com.
Thank you.
You may post your story (for all to see) as a comment on this page. Or you may send your story directly to my email (tuasmig@aol.com). Email is also the option to use if you would like to provide a picture or two for consideration.
Thanks in advance for your support.

Folks,<> is there any doubt that there is no talking to these idiots? And I don't just mean Limbaugh; I'm also talking Arguing with these assholes is something like going to an elementary school playground and calling someone a "doody head."
